Replacement gears made from a sample
Spare gears for older machines, reproduced from a worn sample or a drawing to keep production running.
- What was needed
- Spur Gear, Helical Gear, Worm & Worm Wheel, Non-Metallic Gear
- Requirements
- Match the worn original
- Right material and treatment
- Fast turnaround for a stopped machine
- Result
- Older machines back in production without replacing the machine.
Problem
Older machines (textile, packaging, process) often outlive their original makers. When a gear wears out and no spare is available, the machine stops.
Solution
The gear is measured from the worn sample or drawing (module, tooth count, helix angle, profile shift, bore and keyway) and made new in the right material.
- Spur, helical and worm sets are made to sample.
- Non-metallic gears can replace a noisy metal gear where loads allow, for quieter running.
Benefits
Why it works
Keep older machines running
No need to replace the whole machine.
Made to sample or drawing
Reverse-engineered from the worn part.
