Electric Motors & EV · Application
EV and e-axle reduction gears
Precision ground and helical gears for the reduction stage between an electric motor and the wheels.
- What was needed
- Helical Gear, Ground Gear
- Requirements
- Low noise at high speed
- Accurate tooth form and finish
- High load capacity
- Result
- Quiet reduction stages for high-speed electric drives.
Problem
Electric motors run fast, so a reduction stage is needed between motor and wheel. Without engine noise to mask it, gear whine is clearly heard, so accuracy and finish are critical.
Solution
Helical gears for smooth meshing and ground gears for accuracy and surface finish reduce noise at high speed. Made to drawing in the required material and heat treatment.
Benefits
Why it works
Low noise
Helical and ground teeth mesh smoothly.
High-speed capable
Accurate gears for high motor speeds.
